It is a rare privilege in life, and especially in a career, to be able to positively influence the lives of generations of families for almost 50 years. Having brokered hundreds of millions of dollars of transactions over the decades, I have learned how to make both buyers and sellers in a sale feel secure that they have been well informed, understand the options, been treated fairly, been well represented, been given great support, and pleased with the outcome of the negotiation.
Wintergreen is my Dream Too When I first saw what was to become the Wintergreen community I was overwhelmed with its incredible natural beauty and also how carefully and environmentally conscious it was to be developed. As a young man, I had hunted and fished and hiked in the mountains and valleys of Nelson and Augusta County, so I knew the area. I witnessed the early roads being built to Wintergreen and Stoney Creek in the summer of 1974 and I was so impressed with its potential that I left a great career in Washington, D.C. and never looked back. I have been fortunate to work in one of the most beautiful and tranquil places in the world. I look forward every morning to meeting people and learning about their goals and dreams, then helping them achieve it. While they are making a living, I help them make a life. Virginia Family For Generations On a personal note, I grew up on a cattle farm in neighboring Albemarle and Louisa Counties, and my family has lived in Virginia since colonial times. I am the oldest of five and was educated at the Blue Ridge School in St. George, Va. and the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. Proud Husband, Father and Grandfather I married the love of my life, Judy Mather from Ligonier, PA., who was the social director at the Greenbrier Hotel when we met. We are blessed with two sons, Will, a graduate of Villanova University and John, from the University of Virginia. Will and John are now married. John and Taylor blessed us with Quinn and Charlie. Will and Stephanie have Amelia, Jack, and Wesley due in the spring of 2023. Our family loves fly-fishing, golf, skiing, hiking, gardening, biking, hunting, and off-road sports. Wintergreen has been the perfect place for us, as I hope it will be for you. What is especially exciting for me and Judy is to see how our little grandchildren now also love this community.
